Korikori Sports Park & Park Lane, Hamilton

Construction of the new Korikori Sports Park & Park Lane is part of Hamilton City Council’s objective to improve community facilities. The park is comprised of five sports pitches available for a range of codes as well as carparking, roading, rain gardens, planting, kerbing, line marking and more.

In addition to the base contract Hamilton City Council varied the contract to include a new stormwater line and 3000 cubic overfill of line that was an existing drain/swale and an extra 15000m2 playing platform resultant of removing the swale/drain. The site was levelled and compacted for suitable future development of the building platform and car park facilities.

Fowlds Park, Auckland

Auckland City Council commissioned TIC to carry out an extensive renovation of three hybrid sports fields. The project began with the removal of the existing turf and the installation of a comprehensive drainage system, including main drains, lateral drains, and sand slits, to enhance field performance and manage water effectively.

In addition to improving drainage, a new sportsfield irrigation system was installed to ensure optimal water distribution. TIC also provided and installed lighting foundations and poles for the sports fields and the netball courts, significantly enhancing visibility and allowing for extended playtime.

Further upgrades included the installation of a new softball fence, along with the creation of new concrete pathways and roadside bollards. These improvements were designed to enhance safety, accessibility, and functionality, ultimately creating a superior environment for both athletes and spectators.

Mahoe Sports Park, Hamilton

Hamilton City Council engaged TIC to enhance their sports facilities with two key projects. The first task involved installing a new irrigation system across the existing sports fields, ensuring efficient water distribution and maintenance. The second project entailed the construction of a brand new artificial baseball diamond.

This included several detailed phases: surface leveling, the creation of a 2.5-hectare sand base, and the design and installation of an advanced automatic pop-up sprinkler irrigation system. TIC also developed a new drainage system to effectively manage water runoff and ensure the diamond’s longevity. Completing the baseball diamond project, TIC installed a new 90-foot artificial field and set up new backstop nets to enhance safety and functionality. These upgrades aim to improve both the performance and usability of the sports facilities.

Park Island Sports Park, Napier

Park Island Sports Park, a key venue for rugby and the home training ground for the Hawkes Bay Rugby Union, recently underwent a significant renovation. Napier City Council engaged TIC to oversee the comprehensive reconstruction of the rugby field. The project included importing 19,000 tonnes of silt to establish a robust foundation.

TIC then installed advanced sportsfield irrigation and drainage systems to ensure the field's optimal performance. The renovation also involved meticulous soil preparation and grow-in processes, as well as the installation of a groundwater tank to support effective irrigation. These enhancements are designed to improve the field’s quality and durability, providing a superior experience for both players and spectators
